Using good quality AVR magnet wire
is seen as an essential part of building good circuitry. This wire will
form the physical connections between the different elements and
components upon an AVR circuit board. A good quality magnet wire will
be able to transmit the electrical currents in a uniform and exacting
manner, to ensure that your overall circuitry will not fail you because
of poor wiring. The quality of the wiring itself is important, as it
the quality of the soldering of the wire to components. If the
soldering is not done properly then it will physically caused the
symptomatic problems of having a loose wire.
Because the components needing connections on an AVR circuit are
generally going to be quite small, there is a certain amount of good
technique needed to make sure that everything is wired up properly.
With tricky little components, it is a good idea to construct yourself
a jig, something easy, out of cardboard will do the trick, as this will
allow you to hold the wire in place to the connector whilst you go at
it with the soldering iron. This step will save a lot of struggling
trying to hold fiddly little pieces into place and operating a
soldering iron at the same time.
AVR Magnet wires comes in different grades,
and so you will not only
need to get the right one for your circuit, but you will also need to
prepare it. Some magnet wires will be able to be stripped with the
soldering iron, but in some wires you may need to scrape off the
insulation before applying it to your circuit. By creating a loop in
the magnet wire, when, for example, attaching it to a LED, this will
allow you to tape one end to the cardboard jig, while extending the
loop past the connecting point. You will then have plenty of leeway to
work with when you apply the solder over the connection points.
A good knife, or wire cutters can then be applied afterwards to trim
the excess AVR magnet wire from the connectors and tidy up your circuit
board. Wire cutters are the preferred choice to eliminate risks of
cutting into anything important, as can be done with using a hobby
knife. With those basic pointers you should be able to create the solid
basis of your circuit with AVR magnet wire. The secret is in the
soldering and keeping the components clear of dirt and dust. Selecting
the right quality magnet wire will help with the conductivity and
efficiency of your circuit's design.
